Why phast4u was started

While working as a chemical engineering consultant for Det Norske Veritas I frequently used Phast to model releases of toxic and flammable gases for clients in the chemicals, oil and gas and other industries. During this period I came to appreciate the flexibility and accuracy of the total package.

Since leaving Det Norske Veritas, I have worked as an independent consultant undertaking risk analyses for clients in the process industries. I still needed to be able to use the high-end modelling capabilities of Phast but could not justify the very high cost for a license to use it. I wanted to be able to undertake a small number of runs and tried to find someone who would do this. I could not find anyone willing to do this so decided to set up an organization that would be able to quickly and accurately run Phast models for other consultants around the world.
